Welcome to the Packet Radio Mail List! I am the list administrator
"David Barlitt (KF4AWU)" and you may contact me through the list if you
think others may benefit from your questions and/or comments, or you can
email me privately at [email protected].

You may receive a Welcome from mailman.qth.net which is auto generated,
but I wanted to send you all a more personal welcome and to wish
everyone a Happy New Year. We are starting out the New Year with a new
mailing list software called [mailman]. You have all been removed from
majordomo and placed in mailman.

As with any change or progress there will be a learning curve. And with
any new software there will also be bugs, so please bare with me, other
list administrators, Tim, and Al as we under go this transfer!
Now for how this effects you and what changes you need to make!

First off you'll need to change your address book entry to:
[email protected]

Second you'll need to change or add to bookmarks/favorites, the Packet
info and admin page: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/packet

And last is you need to know your password to leave or
[ U N S U B S C R I B E ] from the list. This is to prevent jokesters,
vengeful person(s), or out right unscrupulous persons from removing you
from the list. You will be reminded of your password, admin pages, ect.
once every month. The auto welcome I mentioned earlier will also display
it. You can retrieve it anytime by going to the info and admin page:
http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/packet and place you email
address in the text box, then click [Edit Options], the page this takes
you to has a [Email My Password To Me] button which does just that! This
page also allows you to [Disable mail delivery] "for going on trips or
vacation". [Set Digest Mode] switch between regular daily mailings and
the digest, Please Note you CAN NOT be in both like majordomo allowed.
[Get MIME or Plain Text Digests] plain text default.
[Receive posts you send to the list] lets you see your own posts or not.
And there is a few more options. I think this is enough for now.
