Dear Kenwood Customer:
Thank you for your e-mail inquiry.
Re: MARS(Military Affiliate Radio System)
CAP (Civil Air Patrol)
Several Kenwood radios have the capability of operating
on some or all of the MARS/CAP frequencies. All of our
equipment has been approved for the sale and use on
Amateur Radio frequencies only. The equipment has not
been type accepted for use outside the normal amateur
bands by the FCC. As authorized MARS/CAP operators you
are granted the authority to operate such equipment on
your frequencies.
In order for us to supply the required information we need
to confirm your membership in one of the organizations.
We therefore need to see a copy of your MARS/CAP
membership/ID card to confirm your permission to utilize
non type accepted equipment. Your amateur radio license
does not provide this authority, only your MARS/CAP
appointment/License.
We do not charge for this information, it is made
available as a courtesy to you.
You can E-mail, fax, or send, us a copy of your permit for
verification.

We are not able to release this information to Marine, CB,
or Commercial radio operators since this is forbidden by
the FCC.MARS/CAP/ARES/RACES ONLY.
If you need further assistance, please e-mail us again.
Sincerely,
