PLEASE FORWARD ON TO THOSE MEMBERS THAT MAY NOT YET BE ON THE OREMEM LIST!!

THE LATEST VERSION OF AIRMAIL2000 IS 3.3.048 AND IS AVAILABLE AT
www.siriuscyber.net/ham ALSO NOTE THAT SOMETHING HIGH ON THE LIST OF FUTURE
CHANGES IS NTS routing support .

JOE AAR0PY

Greetings Airmailers!

Version 3.3.048 fixes a problem with telnet settings not being stored, and
adds a new com-port info pull-down to Dumb-terminal (will be added to other
com-port boxes). Also fixes a bug with catalog-display following an update.

>From ver 3.3.046:

Routing list: A new routing table is implemented to for more flexibility
with message forwarding. The routing list (Tools/Options, Routing tab) now
has a new entry for "Received via", i.e. how the message arrived in Airmail-
see the "routing" entry in Airmail help for more info. If you see a warning
when first starting this version of Airmail then open Tools/Options/Routing
and check the routing entries, that means you had some user entries which
Airmail could not sort out and convert. Basically for each entry, in
addition to specifying the destination-address to watch for and the
destination routing (the "post-via" setting), you can also specify the
source that the message was received from. This allows specifying different
routing for messages received (for example) via a local POP3/SMTP LAN
connection, or via a radio link.

Note that forwarding messages which are received from other stations via
WL2K is currently disabled, you can forward messages from other stations but
the reply will always come back to your callsign. The reason is that WL2K
does not specify recipients and it is possible to create a mail loop.

Tactical callsigns: dash-number calls are supported as independent user
callsigns (not to be confused with packet dash-number SSID's). Note that for
Pactor use, 6-char callsigns can only use a single-digit suffix (i.e. 6
letters plus a dash plus 2 digits won't work for Pactor, but will work for
packet).

The setup wizard is rewritten to allow future flexibility, and now has a
"search" button to find a PTC-II-family modem on any available COM-port.

Telnet now supports multiple systems, this resolves a problem where the same
callsign could not be used on different systems.

The Packet-client window now remembers who it is supposed to connect to, for
auto-connect- this resolves a problem where an imcoming connection would
change the connect-to box and cause Airmail to call the wrong station.
Multiple systems will also be supported for the Packet window, similar to
Telnet, but this is not yet implemented.

Position reports: Custom-reports now work correctly. GPS data can now be
logged eitehr in CSV format (compatible with Excel or other spreadsheet-type
programs) or "GPX" format which is compatible with some mapping programs.
The Pos-Report data-input window also supports GPS "rebroadcast" which can
retransmit GPS/NMEA strings to other programs (see "NMEA Broadcast" in
Airmail help).

A problem with entering invalid modem types has been resolved. (Text entries
are not allowed, and an invalid entry will result in an coherent error
message rather than an address-fault).

This release includes SCS ver 3.6i firmware which fixes a problem with
autobaud at high baud rates.

Not finished but high on the list: AGW packet support with new multi-channel
packet window (don't select AGW, it will cause an address-fault error); then
MFJ/TNC2 host-mode packet support; NTS routing support; support for canned
message-signatures (including links to Pos-Reports); more features for
grib-request window, ...
