FYI- VAARS is a newly formed Entity, and because of previous efforts
during exercises over the past 3 years with them, they are inviting us to
join on the Ham side with them, on these daily nets. Those stations who
desire to check in must remember to use their Ham callsigns, as this is a
HAM frequency and it is of course only if you are authorized to operate
on that portion of the band (General or Extra). When the NCS answers
you, remember to state your MARS Affiliation, City and Zip Code. Also
if you live close to a VA Med center or Clinic or Domicilliary, they want
to know that as well.
The VA has great interest in the fact that we through SHARES can
provide support to NDMS events and exercises. I encourage those who
can and desire to to check-in on these nets.
