Hi All,

A reminder - we have had some stations attempting to link up with the
Gateway using the callsign AT0TOR.  This will not work.  One must use
AT0TFC.

We had a choice, since the Winlink system will not recognize two callsigns
we had to decide whether to use a system that would see double callsigns or
have the same command structure as Western.  We decided on the latter to
save the members having to learn two different command menus.

The propagation should be improving according to ARRL for the next week.
Sunspot numbers were down to 30 the past week but are coming up over 100 for
the next 5 or 6 days with the promise of more coming from the back side of
the sun.  Keep trying to link up as things should improve.

Also, we are beginning digital training on the use of digital prosigns.  We
started the abbreviated list in the BTC manual today (Friday 05/14) and will
review that material tomorrow and move on.  Good place to jump into the
digital training nets for a complete background and practice using the
digital operations prosigns. Master the art and become a pro at digital
communications.  Our digital training nets are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
and Saturdays at 0900 PDT on KDD no offset.  These nets are multi-mode with
voice checkins for those who wish to copy digital without having to transmit
and you still get credit for the net.  We know there are those members who
don't want to transmit digitally on a net due to problems with typing
(arthritis, experience etc.) but could use the experience of digital net
operations.  Feel free to kibitz and still be a checked in station.!
