Hello John,
Below is an announcement of our upcoming emergency exercise. A
major objective of this exercise is to afford "slant tango" members
an opportunity to complete their emergency exercise requirements.

Hello, Washington State Army MARS Members!
Washington State Army MARS shall conduct an emergency exercise on
Thursday,
September 18, 2003. The exercise shall be held during the two
scheduled
Washington State nets, AAA0WA/A and AAA0WA/F. The first Emergency
Exercise net
shall be at 181401Z SEP 03 (0701 Pacific), opening on the Washington
State
AAA0WA/A net on frequency KCJ LSB. The exercise shall be placed on
Administrative Pause at the end of the morning activity, and shall
re-commence
during the AAA0WA/F net at 190201Z SEP 03 (1901 Pacific) on the
frequency KCF
LSB. The /A net should last about an hour, while the /F net shall
not run over
one hour.
The senario for this exercise will be a state-wide power outage
(much like the
recent Eastern Coast power outage). The event identifier shall be
"DARK DAY."
All members are requested to bring an exercise EEI to the emergency
nets. The
traffic may be by voice or digital. Those who participate should
also be ready
to prepare and send other reports such as Net Activation or Net
Deactivation.
The objectives of the exercise are:
1. Conduct an emergency exercise following the procedures outlined
in the
Washington State Emergency Oplan.
2. Submit exercise EEIs and other reports in accordance with the
National
Emergency Oplan 04-02.
3. Provide newer members an opportunity to prepare and send
emergency reports.
All Washington Army Mars members are requested to participate in the
exercise.
It will be short but interesting. All participations should submit
an After
Action Report to AAM0EWA within 24 hours after the close of the
exercise.
It is our hope that those Washington State Army MARS members who are
still in
training and wish to fulfill their Basic Training requirement to
participate in
two Emergency Exercises will take this opportunity and join these
nets on
September 18, 2003.
A formal Alert Notification shall be issued shortly. If you have
any questions,
please feel free to contact me.
73,
Tomas Hood, AAM0EWA
