Greetings, Everyone,

AAM0TOR is attempting to collect some information from the general
membership on what digital capabilities are now workable for each member.
This is important information for many reasons, primarily to allow us to
know what modes members can use to receive and transmit traffic.

If one member has only sound-card modes he/she could transmit traffic to
someone who has those modes plus the usual Amtor/ Pactor modes to move the
traffic along the route to its proper destination. Also, traffic which is
on the Gateways, (Western & Oregon) could be taken by Pactor users and sent
to those many operators who have sound-card modes. We would have improved
our net traffic and emergency traffic with much more reliability and ease.

Also, this information would allow us to make some decisions for the
Gateway. At present, Oregon Gateway has only Pactor capability, but AAR0FB
and myself are laboring to get up a system that will allow Amtor and Pactor
communication from the same software. We are about half-way to having this
capability available when we wondered how many stations don't have Pactor
and how many have Amtor. It just may be that we are working on a project
that will not improve access to the Gateway. So we need this information
from each and every member. The membership roster just tells us who has HF
digital capability, but not what modes.

Please respond ASAP with this information. We wish to know:
1. What digital modes you can receive.
2. What digital modes you can transmit.
3. What digital modes you are installing and, if any, what date you expect
to have completed the installation.

It would also be advantageous to know what software and hardware (TNC) you
are using, so we can find resources for information to help others who may
be using the same equipment or software and are having problems.

This information is most important, so please respond to myself AND AAM0TOR.
Our emails are in the current roster.

Thanks, Group, for your timely response to these questions.
