Greetings All,
Now that we have the Gateway functional on its "pending" new frequencies
(see below) we would like all stations with Pactor capabilities to linkup
with the Gateway and please report the following information to AAR0NH:
1. Time/date of linkup or attempt to do so.
2. Apparent signal strength of Gateway at your location.
3. Any problems encountered.
Also please note: we will have a special training period on the Sunday night
training net, August 31. We'll try to cover all the knots and kinks one may
face with the Gateway system, a review of the basic commands, and what to do
when things don't seem to be working. Even if your station only has Amtor
digital capabilities, it would be wise to check into the net as we foresee a
future use of Amtor for the Gateway not too far off, and the commands and
use will be exactly the same for Amtor and Pactor - just the equipment will
know the difference.
I wish to thank everyone who has given so much time and effort into making
the Gateway a possibility. The testing and measurements phase would have
been impossible without the dedication of the members helping to give us the
data we need to make the Gateway operable. Although we are still running
tests, we are in the final phase and it was the loyal members who got us to
this point. Well done, well done!
Oregon Gateway Schedule:
7 Days - Noon to 3:30 PM PDT on KFH LSB with 2.21 offset
7 Days - 8:00 PM PDT on KCQ LSB with 2.21 offset
Please make a special effort to linkup on both frequencies and send me your
results as requested above.
Thanks to all.
