GATEWAY NEW FREQUENCIES
Effective as of 21 Aug 03, at 8 PM PDT, the Oregon Gateway schedules remain
the same:
7 Days - Noon to 3:30 PM PDT
7 Days - 8 PM to 11:30 PM PDT
The frequencies will be as follows:
Noon to 3:30 PM PDT - KFH with NO OFFSET.
8 PM to 11:30 PM PDT - KCQ with NO OFFSET
These frequencies are those we have requested to be our permanent Gateway
frequencies and the SMD and I feel we could use more testing during these
bad propagation conditions. It will aid us in determining the future Oregon
Gateway schedules for best operations and access by the membership. Please
test these frequencies during both scheduled periods and report your
failures to linkup on the nets or email me at:
[email protected]
It is requested that all member stations use these periods to test their
abilities to linkup with the Oregon Gateway and to read traffic and post
traffic as they see fit.
ALL NETS
It has been suggested by fellow members that we use our nets to pass more
traffic, such as practice EEI reports, Marsgrams to fellow amateurs for
recruitment purposes, and also the sharing of information all members should
have for efficient traffic management of their stations such as email addys
for the emergency report formats.
AAM0TOR has reminded us that using the nets to pass practice traffic keeps
our skills honed and our familiarity of formats for the various emergency
reports needed in our exercises. EEI practice reports are ALWAYS a good
practice for everyone and each member should have sent at least one EEI
report per week, on the nets in voice/digital mode. This helps with getting
us familiar with the EEI format, and helps other members keep their skills
in copying traffic and getting digital experience. What we do in practice
we will do in real emergencies. Think about it.
