As the State Director of Army MARS,Oregon and Idaho,
I approve of this voluntary effort to establish a MARS station
in a Local American Red Cross. This is in memoriam for our
Good friend, Ruth Revoir AAR0OD OR/ (SK last Sunday).
The family (Husband, Joe Revoir AAR0CJ OR and kids)
has requested a donation in favor of a charity or volunteer org.
Other members in Oregon have suggested, and I have approved
as has the family, of donations toward establishing a MARS
manned club station at the local (Southern Oregon) chapter of
the ARC.
Other Hams in the area there have expressed a desire to
join MARS and assist in establishing the station as well as making
it manned. Equipment may also be donated if and as desired to
help this along. A club license will be requested as it comes to be
close to completion.
Below is the original message sent locally, following my
initial approval via voice on net and email follow up.
