[OMIK] HBCUs on the air?

Thanks Nicholle

I'd if anyone has any additional stations for the spreadsheet list
please reply with the callsigns and contact info. As you can tell,
many of the station licenses have expired.
My hope is that hams operating on or near the campus would spark interest.

I'm really excited/inspired about what's happening at W8EDU and W3USR
clubs stations. W8EDU has alumni that give to support the
station--it's self sustaining. I want that for all the HBCUs
(especially my alma mater Howard 😉). Other examples are Cal Poly's
first year ham radio project and Rice's use of ham radio in their
teacher's preparation program.

I think the most challenging thing at this point is how to get on
campuses or be welcomed on campuses to do a demonstration net during
the 3/14/2026 event or earlier.

In my opinion, I believe the next thing to do is to continue to collect information from all HBCUs that have stations and encourage other HBCUs to start one. it would be great to have as many HBCU stations as possible participate next year. If there is anything I can do to assist you, please let me know.
