I heard about this Fascinating article about racism and FCC on the
Counterspin podcast
(https://fair.org/home/joseph-torres-on-the-fcc-and-structural-racism/).
I note the inclusion of Rufus Turner, the polymath engineer, Amateur
Radio operator.

This paragraph should be of great interest to all amateur radio
operators: “Hoover’s Commerce Department also oversaw the licensing of
radio stations during the emergence of this new communications sector
and “routinely assigned amateurs and low-power stations the least
desirable frequencies.””
