Lots of digital modes. FT8, which is basically simple QSOs with no convo, is by far the most popular and newest. It's cousin JS8 is good for chat. Lots of YT videos on all the modes, there are dozens.‐‐---------‐------‐------------------

I just came out of "Ham Hibernation" after 13 yrs  then took the exams and got my General ticket a few weeks ago. I bought all new equipment and refurbished one of my old laptops.  The last of my equipment, a 40' mast, just arrived yesterday.  I've had my current
mast for 30 yrs. and it's traveled with me most of my 22 yr. military career.  Lately, my problem has been all the leisure traveling I've been doing .  I just returned from spending a week in Orlando and now I'm heading to Richmond, VA.  I'm going to Lowes
to buy a ground rod pounder and get started on those ground rods today. I cant wait to get started next Monday assembling the 5BTV antenna and seeing if my 10/11 meter and 2/70 meter antennas are reusable when I take them down off of the current mast.  I cant
wait to try all these new modes that were not available to me before I let my last stint in the hobby.  I have a ft-991A, FTM-200 and an Alinco DJ5XLT.  As soon as I figure out how to use the programming software, when I get the time, I should be on the air
 next week.

Anyone else in OMIK big on digital conversation modes (RTTY, PSK, Olivia, Thor, etc.)? Also JS8 though FT8 underlines it? I was wondering if enough people were interested whether an informal or formal digital mode net on 40 meters in
 some evening would be popular?Reggie
