[OMIK] HBCUs on the air?

hey folks. My bride suggested that we look at key dates in the history
of Black amateurs for the HBCUs On The Air gathering or QSO party.
For example,  Rufus Turner

Unfortunately in this case, I think that there are many amateur radio events
happening on Xmas day--like opening the boxes of new radios and trying
them out. HI HI

I like the idea of an HBCU QSO party. I guess my fundamental question
is how do we get stations on campuses? I'd like to connect with the
the engineer and physics departments and may be have a GOTA station
for nonhams to give the hobby a try.
