Hello OMIK
First of all, thanks for all the notes of support and encouragement
for the NRAO ham radio project. We're working with our second cohort
of 17 students and preparing to release the opensource class content
to the ham community for use next year. (I'm particularly thrilled
that 3 of the learners are from my alma mater, Howard College of
Engineering and Architecture.)
+ I need your help. Currently, One of the classes I’m developing will
provide hints and ideas for helping our cohort look out for one
another on and off the air.
+ Please describe a time about a time when you dealt with harassment
on the air or at hamfests. What strategies worked for you? Which ones
didn't?
+ Please describe a time when you provided support to someone who you
witnessed being harassed on or off the air.
+ Please describe how you deal with online harassment and deliberate QRM?
What support strategies or advice would you give a new or becoming ham
you if you were mentoring them?
Please feel free to email me at jalexand at nrao.edu or wb2ifs at gmail.com
with your suggestions and ideas. I will not identify you in the class
content unless you specifically ask me to do so.
For those who are unfamiliar, you may read about our ARDC supported
project in an article in August 2023's QST on page 20..
