Hello folks,

I was just reading about how ARDC is knitting together people and projects
they've funded <https://www.ampr.org/ham-clubs-build-community/> and I
wanted to reach out to see if anyone is interested in being a guest
speaker/role model for the students in the NRAO Ham Radio Project
<https://superknova.org/ham-radio-project/> I'm leading.

When I was at the TAPR/DCC (https://tapr.org/conferences-2/dcc/) I learned
that the ARDC contributed to the OMIK scholarship fund. ( BTW I gave a talk
<https://youtu.be/gJtIrOHLuKQ?t=8304> about the NRAO Ham Radio Project
<https://superknova.org/ham-radio-project/> during the conference.)

Here's who I'm looking for:

   - BIPOCs or allies with experience in STEM R&D or broadcasting
      - Backgrounds in astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, space weather,
      solar astronomy, etc. are favored
      - LGBTQ+, allies, or open to interacting with young 18-20 year olds
   who may be LGBTQ+

You have two choices for participation:

   - 1 hour duration live via zoom on an weekday evening (9 Jan through Jun
   2023)

OK

   - via a series a 2-4 mins selfie videos (be safe if you do them while
   driving 😉)

In either case, I'd recommend focusing on answers to the following 4
questions:

   - What's your "origin story" about how you got started in ham radio?
   - What's your favorite thing to do with ham radio?
   - How does (did) ham radio help you with your career?
   - How have you dealt (or deal) with discrimination?

If you're interested (or have questions), hit me up via email at
wb2ifs at gmail.com or jalexand at nrao.edu. You may also go to
https://superknova.org/ham-radio-project/ and register your interest at the
bottom of the page.
