[OMIK] UPDATE - The OMIK Convention Cancellation and What To Expect

Greetings OMIK Family --- Saturday, March 21, 2020

I truly hope this finds you and your family are doing well.

For the past week, I have been in contact with several past presidents and
board members. We have been discussing the state of the nation as it
pertains to the Coronavirus. The spread across the country is on the
upswing, and cities are closing.

The states of California, New York, Ohio, and some others already have a
declaration of shut down, and have closed all restaurants except for
carry-outs,

The hotel in Charlotte is down on their occupancy and they are closing
their dining facilities. Couple that with the fact that ninety-five percent
of our organization is over sixty-five and are at prime risk to contract
the virus.

With that said, we are all in agreement and have decided to cancel the OMIK
convention for this year. We will meet this summer (July) by teleconference
to cover elections and any other business as needed.

I will have information as to how we will set up the teleconference and a
schedule. Please keep in mind that all officers are up for election.  We
hope to have a technical presentation and possibly a speaker.

Please continue to keep an eye on the web site for updates and schedules. I
am open to all suggestions and comments. Pass the word to any member that
do not use the media. My contact information is in the blue book.
