[OMIK] OMIK Amateur Radio Association - Update

Dear OMIK member:

We are excited about some changes and initiatives that the OMIK Amateur Radio Association, Inc. has recently initiated. First, we would like to thank you for your support of OMIK over the years and hope you will find it of value and something you will continue to support through your activities, both on and off the air, and through your financial commitment through your yearly dues and gifts to the OMIK Scholarship Fund.

 Recently we have re-worked the OMIK website ( http://www.omikradio.org/ ). I hope that the new format will enhance its usefulness.  We have also initiated an on-line method of payment for OMIK dues through PayPal.  You can find information about just how that works under the Membership link on the website and also in the latest edition of the OMIK Communicatorwhich you can download at (http://www.omikradio.org/newsletter/newsletter.pdf ).

Over the past few months the Board has created a Strategic Planning committee headed by Ritner Nesbitt, N4BMN.  This committee has developed a membership initiative to encourage both new member participation as well as re-connecting to OMIK former members whose dues have lapsed. 

Most excitingly, OMIK has partnered with middle school students of the Viking Radio Club from the Eisenhower Middle School in Lawton, Texas through the efforts of OMIK member Paul Goulet, KC5CYY, and their Radio In The Park program which gets young people on the HF bands under the guidance of Paul and other local Hams.

We hope that these and other activities and initiatives that OMIK promotes will encourage you to join us as active members.
