Not just hams ... SHARES (SHAred RESources) a part of the National
Communications System and MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System) are just
two communications systems which will also suffer potential harm from
power line interference.

Since these are Federal communications resources, it would make sense for
the Federal government to protect them.  We would be an obvious
beneficiary of that strategy.
