Well I got some other DX guys talking about this thing with H44WA. The
general sense is that it is unethical, and the most constructive comment
so far is that all sponsors and donors should follow the lead of NCDXA
and YASME (et al), and make their contributions conditional on an
agreement to post the full DXpedition log after a suitable amount of
time spent engaging in "QSL Fundraising." I know some grantors say
"full log uploaded to LOTW after 6 months" and the Colvin Grants for
DXpeditions specify the full log must be uploaded to LOTW within one
year as a condition of the grant.
If OKDXA is not doing this already, I think OKDXA ought to consider it.
Gone are the days of handshakes and the honor system I guess.
Especially rueful was reading on the H44WA web site they offered a
"Pre-DXpedition QSL convenience plan." This whole thing doesn't smell
right. Did OKDXA give them a donation?
