Challenge for the day!

Trying to help Lucien out. Anyone recognize the callsign? Can you make
out anything that resembles a valid callsign?

Hope the files make it through. If not I'll ask Jeff what to do.

Good luck... Coy

Coy,

Since you work DX and other voice QSOs that must involve people with thick
accents, I am asking for your help. Sunday night I tried a SO-50 satellite
repeater contact using a borrowed duel band Elk directional antenna that I
put on a temporary stand outside and pointed skyward. I was able to get
thru long enough to have my call sign repeated back but I just can’t
decipher his phonetic letters and number. Not sure if there is a Grid
Square mixed in. So I’m asking you to listen to the attached MP3
recordings with your PC or good speakers and see if you can make it out.

The recording named Exchange 051423 is the segment with my call and his
response, then my call and grid square and he gave some kind of response.

The recording named His Call 4 Times is just that. Using my sound editor I
isolated, copied, then pasted it 4 times so you can listen 4 times one
after the other on one click.

Let me know what you think his call is. Could he possibly be outside US
(e.g. Mexico)?

Thanks a bunch.

Lucien
