[OKDXA] D67AA - Comoros

Hi Dennis,
Well, in the case of D67AA, his web site says he is operating F/H...
If they are operating WSJT-X F/H they will be transmitting on the first
sequence multi-streams below 1000, usually starting around 300. They
will only respond to stations calling second sequence transmitting above
1000. A station operating WSJT-X as a hound, when he is called by the
DX station, will automatically shift his transmit frequency down to one
of the fox frequencies to send his report. You don't have to do that
though... You can work the WSJT-X fox station in normal mode, still
transmitting on your original frequency, the fox will hear you and
confirm the contact. (I just worked the D67AA in normal mode, I didn't
shift my frequency even though he says he is in F/H.) The key is calling
above 1000... If the DX is a true WSJT-X Fox he only responds to
stations calling above 1000.
There are some clone software products out there. Some have become
quite popular, such as JTDX, MSHV, and others. MSHV has become very
popular with DXpeditions, especially those with European operators. I
prefer MSHV. I used it on my recent ZL7 DXpedition. It's just simpler to
operate. If a DXpedition is using MSHV, they can have multi-streams, but
you don't have to call above 1000, just call above or below their
streams. Often it's to your advantage to call BELOW 1000, less QRM...
Bottom line... if in doubt, stay in normal mode and call above 1000.
You can work the DX that way regardless of which version of the software
they are running... Hope this helps...

73,
Jeff - K5WE
