IF VK9DX FEELS THAT WAY ARRL SHOULD NOT COUNT HIS CONTACTS. I DO KNOW THAT THE RUSSIAN GOVERMENT IS NOT LETTING ANY CARDS ARRIVE THRU MAIL. RECEIVED CARD FROM RUSSIA, BUT CANNOT RECEPRICATE, MAIL COMES BACK. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE RUSSIAN I WORKED AND HE SAID IT IS ALL POLITICAL, GOVERMENT CLAMING IT IS BECAUSE OF COVID.

For me, if I want a card then $5 is not unreasonable to cover expenses. But
I would definately hesitate to pay $5 for a digital LoTW confirmation like
for VK9DX - Norfolk Island."
Steve, your Dad was a class act, our workplace was never the same
after he left; I miss him much. I had a QSO with Iran a few months
ago, the QSL manager is in Russia and won't confirm because he claims
his PayPal account has been frozen for US-originated payments. He went
on to make several snide comments
about the embargo, obviously has some resentment toward Americans.
Geez, you send his opponent a few Patriot Missiles batteries and these
guys get all upset, so sensitive.
As far as the guy from Norfolk charging for LOTW confirmations, please
read the latest policy posted TODAY on his QRZ page:
"European stations only: you can now get a FREE paper QSL card and
FREE LoTW confirmation from DL3DXX. Email to: DL3DXX at DARC.de
My QSL and LoTW policy remains the same in 2023. If you don't like it,
don't call me."
Excuse my language, but what a douchebag.
