As most of you know things are hopping at the DXCC Desk in Newington. I had a question regarding my recent submittal to DXCC that I submitted via LOTW. Usually these happen within 24 hours. But due to the volume of DXCC action right now, my DXCC submission has been in limbo since Jan 27. So I sent a note to Sharon Taratula asking her about the status about an hour ago. She responded to my E-mail within ten minutes telling me that there is a three week backlog that they are working through right now.
Sharon is in the inner circle when it comes to the nuts and bolts of DXCC and the award certificates and plaques and the endorsement stickers / medallions. One a scale of one to ten I rate her responsiveness and ability to solve crazy DXCC problems at least a 12.
I’ve been waiting for decades to work / confirm Crozet. So I guess I can wait a few week before my DXCC credit for Crozet shows up. In the meantime, I’ll concentrate on Bouvet.
When I applied for the “5 Band DXCC” plaque they had just come out with a plastic plaque that superceeded the paper certificate. I got endorsement stickers for 12, 17, and 30 meters but I should have received medallions for the additional bands. Sharon solved the problem and my medallions showed up via first class mail in a few days.
