Hello Brian

DO NOT use cable grips meant for steel EHS on the Phillystran. Grab the EHS
tails for tension.

DX Engineering has lots of information on Phillystran
https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/phi-hptg-6700i

Look at charts and guides

And you need EHS tails as well for connections to the anchor

Subject: [OKDXA] Phillystran Guy Lines

Sorry, a bit off-topic, but wondering if anyone uses Phillystran guy lines?

I'm rebuilding my tower and swapping to Phillystran HPTG-I guy lines.
Will be terminating the tower end using PLP Big Grip Dead-ends mating
to the thimbles of my Rohn Guy Bracket. On the Pedestal end will use
the same type Dead-Ends mating to properly rated thimbles and
turnbuckles.

My question is tensioning at the Pedestal. I plan to pre-tension the
Phillystran with a come-along and a mechanical cable grip, once I have
the dead-ends partially threaded I release the cable grip. Can
pretensioning with a standard cable grip damage the Polyurethane outer
shell or the Aramid core fibers? Phillystran is not stretchy, so
concerned about impacting the integrity of the cable using a cheap
cable grip made for steel.

Thanks in advance for any replies, hope to see you at the meeting!
