Tim,

With respect to your knowledge, I submit my understanding of WSJT-X.

Although I don't use high power on WSJT-X, yet, the operating guide on the
K1JT site says that you should only use the power you need, but that it is
a weak signal mode... so according to the author it isn't limited to low
power.

The site goes on to note that it does take care not to splatter at high
power.  Good operation and good maintenance checks are required to avoid
corrosion to ensure good performance at high power.
