I GUESS I SHOULD APPLY FOR 5 BAND DXCC, HAVE HAD IT SEVERAL YEARS BUT NEVER APPLIED FOR IT. HAVE OVER 100 COUNTRIES ALL BANDS EXCEPT 160M, STILL NEED 47 MORE THERE.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FIVE BAND DXCC PLAQUE.

I had a message all ready to go telling you all how wrong you were ...
and then looked at the rules (on ARRL's still horrible website) ...
``Five-Band DXCC (5BDXCC): The 5BDXCC certificate is available for
working and confirming 100 current DXCC entities (deleted entities
don't count for this award) on each of the following five bands: 80,
40, 20, 15 and 10 Meters. Contacts are valid from November 15, 1945.
Sticker endorsements are available for certificates. Please see DXCC
Item Order Form for prices.''
So if your 5BDXCC had entities that later were deleted, do the ARRL
DXCC Police bust down your door and confiscate your certificate (or
plaque if you bought one)?
Entities count for all the other awards except HR, where it makes
sense (since the point is to get to the top and if you counted
deleteds, it would be impossible to make it to the top).
That seems dumb but then ... that's one thing HQ is not lacking. :-D
