[OKDXA] NEW COUNTRY

This is the ethics issue that I have with Dom and his rebel group. His
mantra is "Pay to play". The DXCC program has been challenged by those
that charged for QSL's over the years. I'll not mention the call but a
German station for years would not QSL his dxpeditions unless they paid for
the QSL. His reward was to have his cards not count. That hurt everyone
but it has always been clear this was unethical. Some dxpeditions got
around it by holding back on bureau cards and LoTW for a year or so but
folks that didn't pay finally did get their confirmations. In that case
you didn't have to pay to get a confirmation but you did have to pay to get
it timely. It would be nice if the ham radio community would boycott their
dxpeditions but that is hard to do. Most don't actually know what is
happening. They just know that it is a new country. I've thought about
bringing this before the DX Advisory Committee. Not sure I want to go
there. I wouldn't make any friends with those that worked them for a new
one and don't mind paying their $5.00. A big thanks to Steve for looking
at solutions for those that don't do PayPal.

As WA6AUD, Hugh Cassidy, always said, "Work First Worry Later"...
