Even after CQWW, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two to clear
the queue. I don't know how they sized the modernized system, but it
was probably at some percentage of maximum load because you don't size
it for the Monday after CQWW.

~10 years ago, the system melted down. An Ad Hoc committee of experts
from the membership (there were none at HQ) came up with a rescue plan
and that's why it's been mostly stable since. One of the problems
identified was that ops were re-uploading their signed QSOs multiple
times when they didn't get a result. The queue status pages and
feedback about status of uploads was added but more importantly, when
League member K1MU took over the moribund TQSL project and moved it
beyond Beta stage, he added a mechanism for the program to keep track
of what QSOs had been signed and warned the user not to re-upload
(with the option to ignore). One of the main parts of that rescue
plan was to get the DB off of a DBMS that had long been out of support
and on to something modern. AFAIK, that was accomplished. Whether HQ
still runs the DB on hardware at 225 Main St or if it's in an actual
data center on someone else's hardware is not known to me. I hope
it's the latter, but ...

One of the people on that committee, AA6YQ, resigned from it without
saying why but my guess is that he was frustrated that things weren't
moving along. Dave would never Tell Tales, so there's no way of
knowing, but if others of his high qualifications also quit it means
that staff (and probably some of the BoD) wouldn't get out of the way.
Most of the roadblocks have "retired" or were voted out/didn't choose
to run again, so I expect that things are moving again.

If it takes more than 6 hours to clear the queue, then that Ad Hoc
committee needs to be reconvened and maybe with the changes at HQ and
on the Board, real progress will be made. Looks like the queue is
currently measured in minutes, for the record.

You have 18,636 QSO records
You have 11,796 QSL records
