[OKDXA] New NE OKDXA Director

Ken Case, K5KC, our NE DIrector has stepped down from his post. When I 
asked Ken to serve as the OKDXA NE Director, he accepted out of a sense 
of duty to the club and to DXing. I have deeply appreciated his service 
to us, his insights, and his wisdom. He has served us very well and now 
needs to move on to other activities. But, he hasn't simply walked out 
door leaving us to fend for ourselves. Again, out of his sense of duty 
for the club he has recommended a most excellent replacement: Dan 
Edwards, W5XZ. Dan is a superb, well-known DXer that's, frankly, worked 
'em all (we have several that have done this) who's focus is now 160 m 
and 6 m.

I spoke with Dan last night and he has agreed to serve us as the NE 
Director. Dan welcomes contact with the membership and he can be reached 
at W5XZ at att dot net. Welcome, Dan, to the new position!

As a reminder, here is what our bylaws say about the Board of Directors:

Section I – This organization shall have a board of directors with the 
authority authority to act for the membership, by majority agreement of 
the board, in the absence of a meeting of the membership and will be 
responsible to the membership for all action taken.

Section II – Members of the Board of Directors shall consist of the 
regularly elected officers of the organization and five members 
appointed by the President to ensure that each of the five major areas 
of the state are represented (northwest, northeast, southeast, 
southwest, and central) as defined by Interstate Highways I-35, I-40, 
and a 30 mile radius from downtown Oklahoma City. Terms of Directors 
coincide with the President’s term in office (two years).

Section III - The board of directors is responsible to represent the 
OKDXA in any and all negotiations concerning physical facilities, 
policies, and activities when persons or organizations external to the 
OKDXA are involved. This authority may be delegated at the discretion of 
the Board of Directors.

Section IV - The Board of Directors will have the authority to consider 
requests for donations of OKDXA funds for DX operations or activities. 
All requests for funds must be approved by a majority of the board.
