[OKDXA] Update - Now 3Y0I Discussion

Hello Gary and John,
I posted an update here a couple weeks ago from Dom's facebook page.
That's where this FT8 discussion originated. Some of the Rebel team are
heading to the Pacific and will be testing running 5 stations on FT8 at the
same time with one operator. It seems that the trend for Dxpeditions
recently (the few of them that have been on the air) is more and more FT8,
regardless of what us old dogs think. I'm afraid the mode is here to stay.
Big time Multi-Op Dxpeditions will continue to have lots of CW and SSB QSOs,
but probably less and less RTTY and more FT8.
As far as the Rebel group and Bouvet, I hope they make it for the sake of
the DX community. I think everyone expected a try this past winter, December
2020 - January 2021. That's now been postponed until next year. Time will
tell if they are ultimately successful or not. I know there has been some
grumbling from some of the big dxpedition groups that have held off on plans
to go to Bouvet due to the ongoing saga of the Rebel group... I wouldn't
count on this one until it's in the log...
73,
Jeff - K5WE

Here is what 3Z9DX (Rebel team leader) said on eham when that rumor was
brought up:

" Where did you get this information from? FT8 testing plans with 5
stations was scheduled for Fiji, Rotuma and Conway Reef(part2) around Mai
and June this year. Actually part of Rebel team is on the way to Fiji. I'm
writing this post from Frankfurt Airport"
