[OKDXA] DX Lately

Kim:

I don’t have the best antenna system but I’m able to at least hear the A25 in Botswana. And I have worked him once.

But I have not even heard a peep out of the VK9 station even though there are current spots for him on the DX Summit. However, right now as I type this there are two spots back to back on the Cluster. One is a self-spot by VK9CE saying “here I am on 21091 FT8 F/H” and then a few minutes later a spot from mainland Australia saying “I don’t hear a peep from the VK9”. There are quite a few spots saying “I don’t hear the VK9” from various locations around the world. I’m listening now on 21091 F/H and I don’t see anything on the spectrum display that is part of the WSJT-X software. I am beaming to VK9 at a bearing of 325 degrees which goes right over Japan on the way to Cocos Keeling. It is a long haul path.

Cluster chatter says the VK9 is running verticals. Has anyone worked the VK9? If so, when and on what freq?

I've been stoopud busy and not much on the radio, but when I am I
configure my internet cluster to show me spots only from NA stations,
since I probably can't hear what EU hears. It's been very quiet,
especially during the day. Since I'm working from home, I have my
cluster software set to send me a CW "attention" pro-sign (_._._), when
something I need shows up. I haven't been much interrupted from work now
for quite a while...
