[OKDXA] a light, breezy read on the ether..

Honestly, up at least through the introduction this is quite readable
and a good insight into radio history. He credits Marconi with actually
making the trans-Atlantic transmission on Dec 12, 1901, which probably
didn't truly happen (Belrose 1995
https://ewh.ieee.org/reg/7/millennium/radio/radio_differences.html) but
Marconi clearly *DID* clearly make the path on Dec 5, 1902. .
After the introduction, the text gets a bit mathematical, but it's not
awful and the explanations of what the equations convey are pretty
clear. That said, it's not as terrible as it sounds. That said, I've
been going through Kenneth Davies book "Ionospheric Radio," which is
*very* mathematical; it's essentially a survey of what is known about
the ionosphere and all the weird things that affect radio propagation. I
was acquainted with Ken Davies while I worked in Boulder -- he was a
great guy.
