I also operated the ARRL 160 test... In a part time effort I ended up with 466 QSOs. My contesting is nearly always a part time effort... hi... I don't have the station or the endurance for a full time effort. I do like to get on the CW contests and get some N1MM practice though... Worked the following DX: V31XX, C6AGU, CO2RQ, PJ2T, KP2DX, V31MA, ZF9CW, NP2J, & NP2X. Also worked the following locals: K5CM, N5OT, W5TM, & K5SM. Played with my new switchable loop RX antenna. It makes a difference in pulling out the weak ones... Good times making some CW QSOs...

Jeff - K5WE

I played in the ARRL 160 contest least night for a bit over an hour. I
lost track of when the contest was and so missed the first night, but
that's OK because I wasn't truly prepared for two late nights; I'm not
sure two late-nighters in a row is even possible for me these days! I
also didn't water the area under my antenna, so my TX antenna efficiency
was not optimal.
I was strictly S&P, high power, single op would more or less ran
through spots. Results: 60 Qs, 4428 points claimed. I only heard one DX
station: PJ2T. I saw others spotted but never heard them on my K9AY
loops or any other antenna I tried.

Kim N5OP
