Mailman works, but security is not it's strong point - do not use a
"valuable to you" password.

Click on the link in the banner at the bottom (of every message here)
tagged "Help:" and log in with your credentials.

When you get the configuration page, you can select or unselect
"Receive your own posts to the list?" and also "Receive
acknowledgement mail when you send mail to the list?".  Personally, I
always set lists to Yes on the former and No on the latter (since the
receipt  of my own message is a pretty good ack).
