Good Morning OKDXA DXers,
Well, DX has been pretty slow lately. No one is traveling, no DXpeditions,
not much exciting stuff on the bands... I've been trying to do some antenna
work, but it has been difficult with all the rain, and I am getting too old
to climb towers... I was getting close to finishing what I was working on
yesterday but an element got hung up on the gin pole and I bent it... so now
I have to back up several steps and start over... grrrr... CQWW WPX CW
Contest is this weekend, good way to make a few CW QSOs...
Have you heard the new 4 letter suffix Australian callsigns, such as
VK4FDAD or VK3FABY? These are not special event calls, this is an Australian
"Foundation" class license, intended as an entryway for new hams. It allows
operation on HF/VHF, all modes, but with a 10W power limit. It's a simple
25-question written exam concerning mostly *regulations* (not
technical/electronics), and no code.
I try to update the DXCC Totals Listing on the website around the first of
every month.
Please submit any updates to your DXCC Totals listing or submit your new
data to be added to the listing by the end of the month. You can pull your
totals from LoTW or probably from your logging program. Use this shortcut to
the webform: http://www.k5eok.org/okdxa/dxcc-submissions/ . (You will need
to login).
Also, I can use lots more jpg pics of your rare, exotic, unique, or
favorite QSL cards for the QSL Card Album on the website. Camera pictures or
scanner jpg scans will work. Send to my direct email address, not to the
reflector. Thanks...
73,
Jeff - K5WE
