Oh yeah, I remember Lenny... He used to beat me out all the time in the
pileups on 20 with his distinctive voice and phonetics Oscar-Victor-Charlie.
Seems like he also often stuck his name "Lenny" "Lenny" in there along with
his call... Good to know he is still around...

Us old timers remember Lenny as the big DX voice on 20m SSB. He lived in
Searcy Arkansas for many years. He was a retired NYC police officer. If
there was DX on Lenny worked them. No matter how many times he had worked
them before. I have a cup that Lenny gave me with my call on it. It is
beautiful. He gave it to me for my service as the "O" card sorter.

I've missed him over the last few years and wondered what happened to him.
I checked QRZ and found that his call was being used as a club call. I
sent an e-mail to the e-mail address and this morning I got a phone call
from him. He is living outside of Philadelphia where his son and daughter
live. He is in an apartment complex that has a ham station and
apparently they are using Lenny's call. He is 91 and going strong. He is
upset that the station is locked because of the COVID19 scare and can
hardly wait until he can get back downstairs to operate. He has a hand
held 2m but says that's its just not the same.

Passing this along in case you too wondered what happened to Lenny!

73, Coy
