Welcome to OKDXA and Edmond! You live just down the street from me.
In my HOA I tried attic antennas which work ok for 20, 15, 10 meters when
the solar cycle is at or above 100.. but they are worthless in the current
60's and 70's and for 160, 80, 60, 40m and 30m.
I joined my HOA and have been an active board member and a great neighbor
for a few years. They got to know me and they know I honor my word, I
value our neighborhood, etc. I take great care of my fence, yard, home,
etc. So, when I finally submitted a request for a 43 ft ground mounted
vertical they approved it. Another HAM here in the same section did the
same and requested to put up a shortened wire dipole and his was approved.
He serves the board on the maintenance committee.
I've attached a PDF of my request.
Sincerely,
Marcus Sutliff/N5ZY
