Ron Grossman, AF5Q, passed away Sunday after a fairly brief illness. Ron was
always a fixture in the OK QSO party, going mobile each year to activate 15 or
20 OK counties. He also entered every ARRL or CQ contest, and since he lived 2
miles south of me, we would tear up each others receivers when on the same band.
The 10 meter contest sounded much too quiet this past weekend without him on.
Ron was also seriously working on 5B DXCC and was getting close to 100 countries
on 80 meters after recently reaching the 100 mark on 40.

Ron was also responsible for many new hams in Oklahoma, as he had organized and
conducted dozens of Technician license courses in the Lawton area. He also
maintained several repeaters, including the only 222mhz repeater in SW Oklahoma.

Ron's service will be at Ft Sill National Cemetery at 11:00 Friday morning
graveside. A visitation at Ritter- Gray funeral home will be on Thursday from
6pm to 8pm.
