The OKDXA has a Board of Directors that consists of the elected officers
and five other Directors from the NE, NW, SE and SW parts of the state
along with a fifth representing the OKC area. Directors fundamentally
review requests from DXpeditions for funding from OKDXA. Their term
coincides with the president's term, so their appointment is technically
up for renewal every two years. However, they may serve an indefinite
number of terms. In principle, Directors represent members in their
geographic region. Yet, for some time we've been short four Directors.
Ideally, directors are at least partially aware of who's who and what's
what in the DXing world and so can add perspective to funding requests.
I'm happy to report that we now have two new Directors: John Geiger,
W5TD, has agreed to serve as the SW Director and Gary McCrorey, WQ5R,
has agreed to serve as the SE director. We have no members in the NW
quadrant of the state, which is bounded by I-35 on the east and I-40 on
the south and so no one qualified to represent that area. Not only am I
looking for member in the NW part of the state, I'm also still looking
for a Director to represent the NE part of the state. If you'd like to
volunteer, please contact me.
73 & CU in the pileups!
