I think the idea of a Contest University [or maybe a DX University??] is 
great. I think ham radio benefits when new hams take up a variety of 
activities including both DXing and contesting. I am not a hard core 
contester any more. But back in my Silicon Valley days -- in the 1970s 
to 1990s -- I did win a few plaques in the ARRL RTTY contest. These were 
the days when people were just transitioning to computerized RTTY 
operations. I ran homebrew RTTY software and came in first place in the 
Pacific Division.
