[OKDXA] 2 Meter FM

I remember this from my years in CO as a Mile High DX Association
member. We used 146.43, but the vast majority of us were in the Denver
area and within simplex range. Those that were not, used the OKDXA
Packet Cluster, which had enough digipeaters to cover both sides of the
state. Whenever I was on the air, I had my 2 m FM rig set for the local
node so I could see (mainly local) DX spots. Some of us had two 2 m rigs
and also monitored 146.43 or would go there if asked.

We don't have anything like that anymore: packet went the way of the
dodo and so no one operates (or uses) digipeaters anymore. Yet, I've
often thought that something in the same vein would promote more club
cohesion. I have no idea what that might be, though, so I'm open to
suggestions. In the mean time, I'll also monitor 147.54, whenever I'm
active in the shack.

73 & see you in the pile-ups,

Kim N5OP
