Whoa, apologies! I jumped the gun, here. I just read the top part, but 
there's a final sentence... Why not use a K1EL WinKeyer? If you try to 
key the rig from what amounts to a serial port, you won;t be happy with 
the results. Unless you're running in a DOS or FreeDOS configuration, 
Windows may swap out your keying task for something else with a higher 
priority (such as a System call). That means the resulting CW will be 
uneven and choppy. If you don;t have a WinKeyer, check them out at 
http://k1el.tripod.com/keyers.html.
