I have set of K9AY receive loops for 80 and 160 m. They are not even
close to what I'm told a Beverage antenna can do to help with low-band
receive, but they do help sometimes. Apparently a deer ran through it
sometime today: my wife came home and saw that it was leaning because
one of the lines holding the loop had failed. She went inside briefly,
came back out to tie it off temporarily and it was down. Of course, the
weather doesn't look good for putting it back up any time soon. Maybe
Sunday... No worries about rain or snow, but there's wind and cold.
Just when I can see my way clear to some operating time in the evening
during conditions that favor nothing but low bands and... This. Sigh.
Oh, well! See you in the pile-ups!
