I'd suggest looking for a replacement spring at an Ace Hardware store!

Subject: [OKDXA] Spring for a J38
Folks:
A longtime friend getting active again opts to use (prefers) his old J38 to his Vibroplex bug. I'm almost embarrassed to say such! To each his own however. These past few months I have become fairly good at using a keyer in lieu of my bug so moving on up! A straight key and bug however will always be at hand because classical Morse Music can't be beat!
Bob WA9JWR is missing the spring that holds the arm of his J38 positioned for pounding. Does anyone have one of those springs or even a complete J38 sitting around they might part with. If you will let me know and details to obtain can be worked out.
