All Dxers in Oklahoma:
This Navassa operation has been a great DXpedition. I've got my station
put together from chaos in the nick of time. I had been chasing an
intermittent problem with my Pro3 for months but finally gave up on
trying to fix it. So I set it aside and bought a used Pro2 from a guy in
PA via QRZ.com. So I am using the Pro2 here -- a rig that is over ten
years old. So far it is up to the task with K1N. We will see for sure
when the logs come out.
I have a marginal 40m antenna: Inverted "V" with apex about 40'. But by
staying up late [07:35UTC] when things died down some I think I put him
in the log on CW on 40m. Also 15m SSB Monday afternoon local time,
and 17m CW at break of dawn this morning local time.
Like Gene, I heard K1N putting many of you in the log.

>Everyone,
>The Board of Directors has given approval for a donation to the VP8
>DXpedition coming up in 2016. Since we have contributed heavily to
>various
>DXpeditions in recent months, we've kept our donation low so as not to
>impact our OKDXA bank account too adversely.
>I've sent $105 to their PayPal email address ($5 extra to offset some
>of the fee they'll be charged by receiving the donation via PayPal).
>I'm sure they appreciate everything they can get in the way of
>donations.
>
>On another note, I hope all of you who are needing K1N, Navassa Island,
>have logged them a few times.
>Some of the club member callsigns I've heard them respond to are K5SM,
>N5AQ, W5NUT, K9KK.
>They have some very proficient operators. They've been battling adverse
>weather, which has hindered not only helicopter flights to and from
>the island but also has impeded their ability to get all the antennas
>up and working. They are still not at full operational status as of yet
>but
>they're doing everything in their power to make it happen as soon as
>possible, I'm sure.
>
>73 and see you in the pileups.
