Scott:

Rookie OKQP operators are usually delegated to start in Cimmaron County and
motor East through Texas and Beaver Counties.  If you miss all the jackrabbits and
antelopes and don't run out of gas you get to work counties at the base of the panhandle.
Ellis, Harper and Woodward.  I just couldn't keep from tossing in my "Tongue in Cheek Suggestion".
There are many good travels to be had in the OKQP - including the Panhandle is just one of them.

For a handful of years now all the counties have been "On the Air".  Pick yourself out
a route and have at it.  You can watch for last minute "All 77 On The Air Holes" that
need filling too.  If you like I can send some examples of the many routes I have
traveled in past years - off reflector -.  Old hands like W5LE, AF5Q, W0BH and K5CM
have seen most of the counties of Oklahoma too.

Some of you may know I am looking to help a mobile contester for this years OKQSO Party, I may however also get the courage up to jump in with both feet and try my hand at it as well.

I was wondering where I could find some old routes that people have used and what counties have typically not been shown all the love they need.

I am starting to prep my 02 expedition for the trip, Power, Antennas, etc.  I am also looking at building a "Shack in a Box" kit to house my radios and provide and easy way to transport my equipment from the house to the truck should the need ever arise.

If you have any ideas or suggestions please send them to me.
