[OKDXA] Ham Holiday 2013

It was great to get a chance to see so many of you at the OKDXA forum at 
Ham Holiday in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
I was impressed at the turnout of around 30 people at the forum, despite 
the fact that we were in direct competition with Bob Heil. Thanks to all 
of you who showed up.

I want to welcome new members Skip Amis, N5CFM, Ken Burdick, KB5T, Mike 
Whalen, K5UV, and Sam Sitton, W5CU.

West Gulf Division Vice Director, John Stratton, N5AUS, spoke to the 
gathering concerning the 2014 World Radiosport Team Challenge, WRTC, 
which is taking place on American soil this time.  The OKDXA Board of 
Directors voted to make a donation of $250 to the effort, to help in the 
providing of a tent for the WRTC operation.

Upcoming DXpeditions of note, and ones to which the OKDXA made a 
donation, are FT5ZM, Amsterdam Island, scheduled for early 2014, and 
VK0, Heard Island, scheduled for early 2015.
