see such a large turn out for OKDXA!

Subject: Banquet - all please read
It was great seeing so many of you at the OKDXA banquet last night. I'm
sorry for those of you who were unable to attend. Even though we had some
problems with Bob's PowerPoint presentation, hopefully everyone still
enjoyed the night and feels they got their money's worth. However, I would
like to say that, if any of you feels like they were short-changed on the
presenation or banquet, please just let me know. The club can refund your
money. I don't want to see anyone coming away feeling cheated in any way.
For what it's worth, I pulled the presentation files off my laptop and moved
them over to my home computer and fired the presentation off directly from
PowerPoint. The exact same problem existed.
There was just something a bit out of whack with the presentation. Dan,
W5BM, said he had recently encountered pretty much the same thing in his
work environment. PowerPoint seems to dislike embedded video files for some
reason.
Bob's generous contribution of so many goodies was greatly appreciated, and
thanks to all of you who were so generous in purchasing so many raffle
tickets. That income is going to help the club's bank account considerably.
After last night, it occurred to me that it would be great if the OKDXA had
it's own library of DVD's so that members could borrow any of the DVD's and
watch them. I'm going to donate the ones I bought to the club to start the
library. So far, I've got 3X5A, K5D, HK0NA in my possession, with his
"Seven Dxpeditions" to be mailed to me later on. So, put another way, the
club now has 4 of the 8 available DVD's in it's library. I'll be requesting
a vote from the officers for an OK for the expenditure to purchase the
remaining 4 to go into the library. That'll take place in a separate email
to the officers.
73 to all and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or
complaints.
Thanks.
Gene
