It was good seeing all of you who made it to the OKDXA meeting at Green Country Hamfest.
We had 4 membership renewals and 1 new member.
We welcome Bob Easterly, KK5J, to the OKDXA.
Prior to the election of officers, several matters were brought to the floor and voted on. They are as follows:
The constitution of the OKDXA will be amended to read that all officer elections are to take place at Green Country Hamfest rather than Ham Holiday.
You must be a current member to hold any office in the OKDXA. This includes the director positions, which are appointed by the President. Anyone who lets their membership expire is considered to have vacated their office.
You must be a current member to be able to post on the OKDXA reflector (mailing list). Non-members will be able to monitor the postings, they just will not be able to put posts of their own on there.
The constitution of the OKDXA makes provision for granting a life membership to those individuals who go above and beyond for the club.
Jerry Chouinard, K5YAA, was given life membership in the OKDXA.
After voting on the above matters, the election of officers took place. The officers for the new term are as follows:
President: Gene Lewis - W5LE
Vice-President: Roger Simpson - K5RKS
V.P. - Activities: Vacant
Secretary/Treasurer: Charlie Calhoun - K5TTT
Bruce Burnette - K5PX was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Northeastern Section.
Coy Day - N5OK continues in his position of Director of the
Central Section.
All other other Sections in the Board of Directors are vacant
at this time.
Thank you to all of you who attended and participated in the meeting, and may the sunpots look favorably upon you as you chase those rare ones!
Gene W5LE
